Through Jesus, God offers all human beings complete forgiveness from sin, a personal and loving relationship with him, peace and power to live this life, and eternal life in Heaven when we die. Because Jesus gave his life for us on the cross and rose again from the dead, he is the only one who can rescue and redeem in this way.
There are four things God wants you to know so you can be saved:
1. We are all sinners.
“As the scripture says, no one is righteous – not even one.” – Romans 3:10
“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” – Romans 3:23
Question: Do you agree with God that you are a sinner?
2. There is a penalty for sin.
“For the wages of sin is death.” – Romans 6:23a
“Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God’s kindness is meant to lead you to repentance? But because of your hard and impenitent heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed.” – Romans 2:4-5
Question: Have you repented from your sins, or are you still destined for God’s judgment?
3. Jesus died for us and his death is the only hope we have to be forgiven.
“but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8
“…but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 6:23b
Question: Do you believe that Jesus died on the cross for you?
4. We must believe that Jesus is Lord and ask him to save us.
“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” – Romans 10:9
“Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” – Romans 10:13
Question: Do you believe that if you called on Jesus right now, that He would save you?
Question: If you could know that God would fully forgive you from your sins, love you forever as a son or daughter, and take you to be with him in Heaven when you die, would you want to ask him to do that now?
Prayer:
God, I know I need to be forgiven from my sins and saved by you. I believe that Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead. Father, please forgive me, save me, and make me clean. I trust you to come into my life and show me how to follow Jesus.
